The project

Diederick van Eck

It was not enough to write the songs about Van Gogh, or to Van Gogh. We realized early that the only way to truly experience the life of this great artist, would be to sing as Van Gogh. Informed by the passion and fire in his artworks and the wealth of information in his letters to his brother Theo, this album tells the story of the most artistically productive years of his life, as if seen throught Vincent's own eyes. The resulting CD is blend of art and music that draws in listeners, creating a riveting emotional understanding and bond with the great artist.

Microphone

Perhaps more than any other artist, Vincent van Gogh's work seems to create a dynamic connection for viewers, who are stunned by the strong emotions conveyed through his intense interaction between color and brushwork.
For Diederick van Eck, the art of Van Gogh has so long absorbed him, that he felt determined to express the inspiration he derives from Van Gogh's art trough bringing it to another sensory experience: music.
